My story and ‘business stuff’

Hello, I am Nicolle Mitchell, an award-winning holistic massage practitioner, teacher, writer & therapeutic mum. I am passionate about using nurturing touch in creative ways to connect, resolve, play & heal. I have been massaging people from new born babies to people of aged over 100 since 1998.

I have a practice near Redruth, Cornwall, and visit people in their own homes if they cannot attend my clinic. Story Hands Massage is a wonderful way to combine my passion for massage, story-telling and creative writing to improve mental, physical, emotional & social health. I love to share this powerful skill with organisations in my community & across the UK. I write massage stories which address issues such as loss, attachment & bullying which are a great resource to discuss resolution & restoration.

In 2012 I was presented with an award by The Federation of Holistic Therapists in London: “Excellence in Practice – Innovation” for developing & delivering my course, “How to Massage People who have Dementia” which I deliver at various venues in Britain. I was a finalist in The Holistic Therapy Magazine award for Inspiration in 2015. I hope this assures you that I aspire to offer you only the very best service & products.

My daughter inspired me to write my Armadillo social stories some of which reflect her difficulties & challenges through life.

I deliver workshops and sessions for families, schools, at conferences, private workshops & events.

Business stuff

My qualifications.

I have 3 ITEC diplomas in holistic therapies, an ITEC Stress Management certificate, numerous CPD certificates in various forms of massage and holistic therapy which mean I integrate many styles to suit the needs of my client.

I am on the DBS register which I trust shows I take working with vulnerable people seriously.

I am qualified in Basic First Aid and I am an insured and accredited therapist with the CThA and the FHT.

My values

I welcome all people into my clinic and workshops & encourage inclusivity & celebrate diversity. I respect people & the environment so try to weave sustainability into all aspects of my life where I can.

I believe that a child who is introduced to healthy, boundaried touch will develop more healthily in their body, brain & heart. Permission & touch is always addressed, & reminders given throughout any session. It is always conducted fully clothed.
